Who Uses WiFi QR Codes?

A WiFi QR code replaces the awkward ritual of reading out a complex password and waiting while guests type it in. Print it, frame it, or add it to a card.

🏠

Home & Family

Hang a printed card near your router. Guests connect in seconds without asking for the password — and you never have to share it verbally again.

Cafés & Restaurants

Add a QR code to table cards, menus, or window stickers. Customers get instant access to your guest network without interrupting staff.

🏨

Hotels & Airbnbs

Place a printed card on the welcome desk. Guests scan on arrival and connect all their devices. No more "WiFi password?" messages at 2 AM.

🏢

Offices & Coworking

Display the visitor WiFi QR code in the reception area or meeting rooms. Keep your internal network separate with a dedicated guest QR code.

🎉

Events & Venues

Print the QR code on event programs, lanyards, or signage. Attendees connect at once rather than bottlenecking on a shared password.

🏫

Schools & Libraries

Post QR codes in classrooms and study areas for student guest networks. Update the password regularly by printing new codes — no IT announcement needed.

Best Practices for WiFi QR Codes

  • Use a separate guest network

Most modern routers support a guest SSID isolated from your main network. Put that password in the QR code, not your primary network password, so guests cannot access other devices on your LAN.

  • Print at least 2 × 2 cm

QR codes smaller than 2 cm across are hard for mobile cameras to detect reliably. The generator outputs 512 × 512 px — at 300 DPI this is about 4.3 × 4.3 cm, which is ideal.

  • Test before printing in bulk

After downloading, open the image and scan it with a separate device. Verify the SSID and password are correct before printing 50 table cards.

  • Rotate your guest password periodically

Generate a new QR code whenever you update the password. Keep the old code out of circulation to prevent unauthorized access.
