Privacy Policy

1. Overview
WifiQRScan ("we", "our", "the site") is operated at wifiqrscan.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. We built this tool to be private by design — the core decoding and generation features process everything locally in your browser.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Images you upload, paste, or capture with your webcam
- QR code content or decoded WiFi credentials (SSID, passwords)
- Any form inputs on the decoder or generator pages
All decoding and QR generation happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly (ZXing-wasm) and JavaScript (jsQR). No image data is ever sent to our servers.
3. Data We Do Collect
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data — page views, referrer, country, device type. No cookies are set. No personal identifiers are stored. Data is used solely to understand which features are most useful.
Server Logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard HTTP request data — IP address, browser, timestamp, and URL path. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are used only for security and debugging.
4. Cookies
WifiQRScan does not set first-party cookies. Third-party services (Vercel Analytics) operate without cookies. If we add advertising (Google AdSense) in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and a cookie consent mechanism will be added.
5. Third-Party Links & Affiliate Links
Some pages on this site contain affiliate links to Amazon. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may set their own cookies. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
6. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves (e.g., if we add advertising or new features). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
